Amy Burkhart has always been interested in the individual spirit and personality of animals. She went to Colorado State University with the
intention of becoming a veterinarian and left with a BFA in visual art and a passion for photography. Amy worked for many years as an accomplished
graphic designer and product photographer but longed to work with animals. Her two cats, Tyrone & Mochi, inspired her to take up animal portraiture.
Amy's goal is to capture your animal companion in a simple, clear
manner through which she hopes to bring out the animal's individual
spirit and playfulness. Your companion has traits, moods, and
expressions that only you know. These are what Amy strives to evoke in
your pet and capture in a photograph, what she believes will give you the most enduring pleasure.
Amy resides in San Diego, California. In addition to pet photography, Amy photographs families, children, babies and is a graphic designer
and artist. Her background in the arts and graphic design allows her to take artistic photographs and provide her clients with custom
photography layouts in books, albums, greeting/holiday cards, just about anything a photograph can go on.
